In this Bullaki Science Podcast Dr Samuele Lilliu and Dr Peter J Christopher discuss the future of moon exploration by new mini rovers that could be deployed as a swarm and holographic 3D printing.

Dr Peter J Christopher is a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge working on embedded 3D holographic displays and additive manufacturing, and Chief Scientist at Exobotics.

The podcast preproduction involved several discussions with Peter as well as a visit at his lab, which I filmed, and which gave me the pretext to introduce and illustrate some of the topics we discussed during the podcast. This is a sort of blend between video podcast and documentary. A similar style can be seen in the Netflix show “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman”.

“My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman” is a talk show that features interviews with a wide range of guests, including celebrities, politicians, and other public figures. The show is filmed in a studio and features a mix of sit-down interviews, pre-taped segments, and other elements.

The show is known for its relaxed, conversational style, with Letterman engaging in long-form interviews with his guests and exploring a wide range of topics. The production style of the show is fairly traditional for a talk show, with a mix of close-up shots of the host and guests, wider shots of the set, and footage of the guests outside of the studio.

Overall, the film style of “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman” is focused on showcasing the conversations and interviews with the guests, and creating a relaxed and engaging atmosphere for the viewer.

Showing clips from the onsite visit is more engaging and entertaining than simply showing anonymous b-rolls. I filmed the shots in his lab with a lightweight setup involving a BMPCC4K mounted on a DJI RS2 gimbal. Peter and I were wearing two wireless Sennheiser AVX lapel mics connected to a MixPre-3.
