Overview
2019 Physics Nobel Laureate Prof. Didier Queloz introduces the Cambridge Initiative for Planetary Science and Life in the Universe.
The Cambridge Initiative for Planetary Science and Life in the Universe (IPLU) gathers researchers from Cambridge University’s Cavendish Laboratory (Department of Physics), Institute of Astronomy, Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, Department of Chemistry, Department of Earth Sciences, and other Cambridge associated departments to enable cross-disciplinary research on planetology and the origin and nature of life in the Universe.
The Initiative combines the interests and research capabilities of the involved Cambridge entities into a comprehensive and transformative program. It aims at promoting excellence and innovation in a new field at the cutting edge of modern science and to become a driving force for international coordination of research and education.
The Initiative’s strategic objectives aim at enabling and supporting multidisciplinary research programs through fellowships and seed funding, developing a coherent teaching syllabus to attract students, and offering opportunities for visiting scholars.
Prof. Didier Queloz is the Founding Director of this initiative.

Production
I took care of the pre-production in collaboration with the team at the University of Cambridge. Since Prof. Queloz was in Switzerland I had to source a team who could shot the interview for us. I spent 3-4 days talking to various film production companies in Switzerland and I eventually found a great team from GB Studios Broadcast who could shoot the interview according to my guidelines. I did provide the team with a shot list and equipment list. I monitored the interview remotely via a Zoom call.
